SUMMARY:AI in Research: Using AI For Literature Reviews (AI Essentials) - New!
DESCRIPTION:Description: This workshop explores how AI tools can support
literature reviews across four key stages: formulating research questions\,
searching literature\, analyzing sources\, and writing. Participants will
learn to use tools like ChatGPT\, Claude\, Elicit\, Consensus\, and
ResearchRabbit to identify research gaps\, discover sources through
citation mapping\, summarize papers\, and develop initial drafts. The
session emphasizes that AI should complement critical thinking and
scholarly judgment\, while addressing important limitations including
hallucination risks\, paywalled content access\, and outdated training
data. Participants will learn best practices for maintaining academic
integrity and verifying AI-generated sources to responsibly integrate AI in
their literature reviews.\n\n \n\nLearning objectives: In this workshop
participants will learn how to:\n\n\n	Use AI tools to support topic
exploration\, research question refinement\, and identification of key
themes. \n	Compare and contrast the benefits and drawbacks of using AI
tools in developing literature reviews. \n	Evaluate AI-generated
 content.\n\n\n\nPresenter(s): Justin Fuhr\, Science & Engineering Librarian
