Description: This workshop will give an overview of best practices for adding contextual description to a data deposit. We’ll use the repository UM Dataverse, but this content can be applied elsewhere as well.

Learning objectives: In this workshop participants will: 

  • learn how description efforts increase the usefulness of their data deposit
  • receive a template for key areas to focus on when adding description to a UM Dataverse project
  • Understand the importance of description for projects that control access to the content
