Description: This session provides an overview of supplementary geospatial data sets and how and why they might be used. Focus will be on the Manitoba and Winnipeg data. Attendees will gain insight into tips and strategies for use in working in various platforms. Discussion will be centered on integrating researcher data with these secondary data sources.
Learning objectives: In this workshop participants will:
Gain an overview of open and proprietary data
Explore popular regional datasets
Discuss workflows for dealing with file size, data classification, projections and data integration
