Description: Many copyright considerations influence decisions you make for your thesis/practicum. Can you reuse figures or images from journal articles in your thesis? Do you plan to publish your thesis, or want to use one of your previously published articles in your thesis or dissertation? What are Creative Commons licenses, and how can you use them? This presentation will provide you with copyright knowledge to navigate these and other issues.

Learning objectives: In this workshop participants will: 

  • their own copyright
  • reusing materials in their thesis/practicum (ex. Creative Commons licenses)
  • modifying versus creating your own figure
  • considerations around use of figures/images
  • how to request permission
  • Generative AI and copyright
