Research Data Management (RDM) practices are increasingly being mandated for researchers in Canada. This session will introduce students to the “what” and why” of RDM, including underlying principles and current requirements from funders and publishers.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Review basic RDM theories including the FAIR Guiding Principles
  • Learn about current and forthcoming RDM requirements
  • Reflect on how to practice research data management currently and where to incorporate new tools or procedures
