GIS Days 2023: Panel Discussions

Curious about GIS research happening across the U of M?

Bring your lunch, meet your peers and join us in the Archives classroom for our GIS Day panel discussions.

The first block of panellists are faculty members from across campus discussing their research, how they integrate GIS into their teaching, gaps in support on campus, and research assistant needs.

  • Marcella Eaton: Landscape Architecture
  • Meredith Bacola: Jesuit Centre for Catholic Studies
  • Nasem Badreldin: Soil Sciences
  • Roisin Cossar: History
  • Stephane McLachlan: Environment and Geography

The second panel is composed of alumni working in GIS and students who are currently working on GIS projects as RAs or TAs. They will discuss their experiences, offer advice on tools and workflows, and share any support gaps they encounter/ed.

  • Claire Morrow: UM Alumni (NRI)
  • Ehsan Azizbadi: UM Graduate student (Soil Science)
  • Emma Ausen: UM Alumni (Environment and Geography)
  • Keshab Thapa: UM Graduate student (NRI)

We hope to spark a conversation with this event and welcome all questions and discussions.
