This session explores the power, profit, and privilege dynamics in academic publishing. 

Heavily influenced by Amanda Makula's "Power, Profit, & Privilege: Problematizing Scholarly Publishing", this session summarizes the scholarly publishing process and helps you to make informed, intentional decisions on where and how to publish your work. 

Together, we will create a publishing plan to find the best way to publish your work and a promotion plan to share your work after it has been published.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Summarize the academic publishing process,
• Examine and recognize power, profit, and privilege dynamics in the publishing industry, and
• Create publishing and promotion plans to find the best way to publish and share your work.
