Predatory journals have become an increasing problem in the academic literature, focusing on profit above scholarly integrity or publishing standards.  This workshop will discuss the history and extent of predatory journals, the challenges that their existence causes, and ways to identify and avoid both publishing in and using predatory journals in your research. 

Participants will learn about the history of predatory publishing, learn about the problems that predatory publishing causes within the academic literature, and learn techniques to identify and avoid predatory journals.
