Navigating the Research Literature: Web of Science & Scopus

This session will introduce two well-established multi-disciplinary research databases to navigate the research literature. We will demonstrate the respective set of bibliometric analytical tools. We also intend to raise awareness of the importance of critically assessing the results as the tools do not necessarily measure the sources' quality or relevancy to their research.

In this session, participants will:

• Identify how to navigate the databases using their respective set of bibliometric analytical tools
• Assess these tools in navigating your research topic
• Be aware of the limitations of the bibliometric analytical tools and the need for a critical assessment of the sources and possibly, even the scholarly community
