As part of the Researcher Workshop series, this online session will focus on predatory publishers and their practices. Participants will be given an overview of the history and nature of predatory journals and publishers, a discussion of the problems associated with predatory practices, and tools to identify and avoid predatory journals.

For more information about and a clear and comprehensive definition of predatory publishing check out these University of Manitoba Libraries videos: “What are predatory publishers?” and “Identifying predatory publishers”.
