The William R. Newman Library focuses on supporting the teaching and research needs of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. The library has three group study rooms (232A, 232B, 232C) located in the adjoining study hall which may be used by registered University of Manitoba students.  Each room is equipped with a whiteboard, markers and erasers; and have a maximum capacity of 6 people.

FALL/WINTER HOURS OF OPERATION FOR THE STUDY ROOMS:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 am - 10:00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Closed on holidays
  • Please note: during the evenings and weekends when the library is closed the study hall is open, accessible by the entrance found at the end of the library on the East side of the library.  There is a sign found outside the entrance that reads: entrance to study hall after hours.

BOOKING GUIDELINES
  • A valid UM email is required to book a room.
  • There must be a minimum of 2 members present at all times.
  • Rooms are available in 30-minute time slots.
  • Book up to 2 hours per day to a maximum of 6 hours/week.
  • Book a room up to 2 weeks in advance.
  • After a room has been successfully booked, you will receive a confirmation email outlining the details of your booking.
  • Please read the User Agreement carefully before agreeing to the terms!
CANCEL A BOOKING
If you are unable to attend your scheduled time-slot, please cancel your booking so that others may use the room.
To cancel a booking, click on the cancellation link in your confirmation email.  If you did not receive a confirmation email, please Contact Us!
